Letter from Doctor Robinson Discontinuing Practice

Dear Active Patients,

It is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement from the active practice of pediatric medicine effective December 31, 2023. After this date, I will no longer be available to treat patients.

You may recall that I retired from my solo practice, Lake Area Pediatrics, in August 2017. Due to the large number of patients I was following for ADHD and related medical diagnoses, I agreed to continue temporarily seeing some of my patients who were unable to find providers to continue writing refills. That time in September, 2017 I opened Conroe ADHD Solutions. It has now been more than six years in that role, and I have decided I must finally retire while I am still healthy and can enjoy my retirement time with my wife and family.

You may consider using your child's regular pediatrician or family practice provider for ADHD treatment including future medication refills and management concerns. You likely do not need to seek a psychiatrist for ADHD as your child already has a diagnosis and a treatment regimen that usually does not need alteration in the near future. Most pediatric patients remain on the same dose of medication for years after determining the optimal dose. Changes are not normally warranted by aging or growth. However, if you have questions or concerns after December 31. 2023, please contact your current provider.

I can recommend a psychiatric clinic, two local pediatricians and a family practitioner who are seeing many of my ADHD patients and their parents:

Your medical records are confidential. Therefore, I will need you to fill out and return a HIPPA authorization to my office so I can transfer copies of your child's medical records to either you (the parent) or your new physician. This HIPAA form has been attached to the newly modified web site under the "Patient Information" tab. Please download this HIPPA form and fill it out with your name (the parent's name as the agent). Then scan it and send it by attached email to frontdesk@conroe-adhd.com with your preferred email address. We will send a scanned PDF copy by secured email (with password) to you or to your physician's office, as you prefer. For ease I suggest that you request we send the record to your personal email address. From there, you can make a copy on a thumb drive and take it to your new doctor's office before you make your first visit. The new provider's office can copy the secure file to their medical record software, and you will be able to hold onto a copy for yourself. Please call or contact us through the portal if you have any questions. The portal will be inaccessible for sending portal messages after December 31, 2023.

If you request your medical record by email (frontdesk@conroe-adhd.com) on or before December 31, 2023, you will be able to obtain a PDF copy for free. On or after Jan 1, 2024, there will be a $20 surcharge (payable by electronic invoice).

If your child has not yet had their fall medication monitoring visit, you may want to make that appointment in November and December. Your new physician will be happier if they have an updated medical record before the end of the year. Again, I will not be writing prescription refills or seeing patients after December 27, 2023. No prior authorizations for medications will be started after December 1, 2023.
