Biodata: Dr. Robinson

I was born in New Jersey, and completed my undergraduate B.S. in Chemistry at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in upstate New York. I enrolled in a combined M.D. - Ph.D program at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) where I also completed my doctorate in Biological Chemistry in 1973 and obtained my medical diploma in 1975. I stayed on at UCLA to complete a three-year residency in Pediatrics. While on the adjunct teaching staff of UCLA Medical School, I practiced Emergency Pediatric medicine and completed my Masters degree in Public Health with an emphasis on international health/nutrition.

Beginning in 1980 I spent three years in Africa working in Tunisia, Liberia, and Congo Republic for CARE as their African Regional Public Health Advisor. I met my wife, Janet (a Texan), while in Liberia, West Africa and returned to the U.S. to marry in 1983. I continued my Emergency Pediatric service in Los Angeles for six years.

A call from Project Concern International and the State Department Agency for International Development enticed me back overseas to Southeast Asia (Indonesia) where I worked as an advisor to the Indonesian Ministry of Health for eleven years. During that tenure, I coordinated projects to improve child survival and immunization rates among rural people in the outlying provinces of Sulawesi, the Moluccas, and East Borneo plus Papua New Guinea, China, and Cambodia. I often served as a consultant for UNICEF, the World Health Organization and the World Bank in developing programs for training traditional birth attendants, village health workers, and rural doctors.

My family and I moved to Texas from SE Asia in January 2000 in order to be near relatives. After teaching at the Conroe High School Academy for Science and Health Professions, I joined a group practice in the Woodlands in April 2002 and decided to leave in September 2005 to open my own practice, Lake Area Pediatrics, in the Lake Conroe/Montgomery area.

With retirement anticipated I sold my practice in 2015 but stayed on at the practice completing a two year transition in August, 2017, twelve years after founding of the practice.

The Conroe ADHD Solutions office opened in September, 2017 with the aim to provide some specialized consulting services on a micro-practice level focusing on the diagnosis and management of ADHD in children.

My wife, Janet, holds a Speech and Hearing Pathology degree from West Texas A&M and a Master's degree from UCLA in Education. She worked in the Lake Area Pediatrics office as the clinical supervisor until 2015 when she moved to Brighter Vistas where she conducts educational therapy for children with learning differences.

I have an adult married son and two married daughters plus six grandchildren.
